Why Muslims don't eat pork?
Bismillahi Rahmani Raheem
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
The story begins in the primordial Earth before the times of Aadam(A.S.) and Hawwa. The whole world or more accurately Bhumi Devi was a part of a Cosmos that was filled with stars, nebulae, and empty planets that floated aimlessly in the sea of void. In such a place lived Devas and Asuras, many of whom felt empty, after all every living being desires closeness and companionship.
Hiranyaksha was such an Asura, he was clever, strong and blessed by Brahman after completing many austerities. He was given the boon that he can’t be killed by any man. He became ambitious and set his eyes on Bhumi Dev, who was one of the most graceful goddesses in existence. One day the mighty Hiranyaksha took Bhumi by her soft hand and dragged her to the bottom of Garbodhaka Sagar, one of the celestial oceans of the cosmos. There he hid her for many eons for he was scared to be alone. Vishnu and Allah saw this and decided something must be done otherwise the cosmos will lose its balance.
Allah said,”Vishnu, Hiranyaksha must be defeated, his insecurities are destroying the cosmos. You need to go there and bring back our beloved Bhumi for it isn’t her nature to be under Garbodhak.” Vishnu said,”Don’t worry Al-Rehman, I will go as a wild boar and pull her out.” Having said this, Vishnu transformed into a massive black boar and dived right into the ocean. Hiranyaksha was scared but unfazed and charged towards Varah. He and Varah battled for ages, their battle shook the whole cosmos, all the while Al-Haq knew his friend could bring back Bhumi.
Varah tired Hiranyaksha, Varah realized this is the time to kill the son of Aditi, he pierced his unbreakable skin with one of his tusks and the whole ocean became red. Bhumi was afraid whether her saviour was dead or not. The Varah took her by his tusk and lifted her out of Garbodhanka Sagar. Al Azeez was happy that his friend was back after the victory but fate had other plans. Varah felt the duty of rebuilding the cosmos and settled on Earth, he mated with many a sow and gilt leading to a progeny of pigs. After his time on Earth was complete, he gave his goodbye to Bhumi Devi and went back to his realm.
Unfortunately for those pigs, Aadam(A.S.) and his kids were exiled from Jannat as soon as Varah left this world. They started killing those pigs for fun and eating them for their nourishment. Narayana saw that and was really saddened for he saved Bhumi and yet his kids were being eaten by humans.
One day Jibreel came to visit Vishnu and said,”O Vishnu, you are Parathma, Brahman, if you are sad, what will we do?” He said,”Don’t talk to me and go away! It was I who saved the world yet the children of Aadam are eating my kids.” Jibreel ralised why Vishnu was sad and said,”Surely Allah will know.” He flew back to Allah and discussed the matter with him. Jibreel rushed back to Jannat to meet Allah. He said, “What should we do Al Khaliq? Vishnu is sad at the death of his progeny.” Allah said,”Don’t worry my faithful servant, I will surely send one of my later Prophets to do the needful and henceforth no true Musalmaan will even smell the flesh of pork lest they burn in Jahannum.”
When Vishnu heard this, he was relieved that Allah, his best friend, hadn't abandoned him after all. He went to Jannat and made amendments with Allah. These two best friends came together and made amendments. Henceforth, no true believer will eat pork.
